WORKERS

We are so glad you want to join us in making Sweet Pea Swap a success!

We truly appreciate your time and dedication!

Please know that we could not do this sale with YOU!

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IN DETAIL VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU SIGN UP AS A WORKER.

We are looking for eager and committed workers! Donating your time as a worker allows you to shop the Worker’s Presale even before the consignors!  The more time you donate, the earlier you get to shop! This gives you the opportunity to purchase the best items first!

One catch…YOU MUST BE A REGISTERED CONSIGNOR CONSIGNING AT LEAST 15 ITEMS TO WORK!

One rule…YOU MUST SHOW UP FOR YOUR SCHEDULED SHIFT!

SHIFT OPTIONS

We have three worker shift options available for you.

We are offering 3 hour shifts, 6 hour shifts, and 9 hour shifts (there are both rewards and requirement for the 9 hour shifts.)

The longer you work, the earlier you get to shop. The Worker’s Presale will be held on the Tuesday before the public sale starts on Friday.

  1. Nine hour workers will be allowed to shop at 3:00 PM.

  2. Six hour workers will be allowed to shop at 5:00 PM.

  3. Three hour workers will be allowed to shop at 7:00 PM.

Please read the following carefully so that you are sure to fully understand your options.

  • 3 Hour Shifts: If you choose to work 3 hours, you will need to sign up for only one 3 hour shift. No lunch breaks will be provided during 3 hour shifts.

  • 6 Hour Shifts: If you choose to work 6 hours, you may sign up for your 6 hours one of two ways:  you may sign up for one 6 hour shift or you may sign up for two 3 hour shifts.  Your two 3 hour shifts can be on the same day or on different days, as your schedule allows.   There is now a 30 minute lunch break built into all 6 hour shifts.  This is noted on the Worker’s Shift Schedule.

  • 9 Hour Shifts: If you choose to work 9 hours, you may sign up for your 9 hours one of two ways:  you may sign up for three 3 hour shifts or for one 3 hour shift and one 6 hour shift.  However, there is one major requirement.  It is mandatory that one of your 3 hour shifts is on the BREAK-DOWN day. No exceptions will be made. As a thank you, if you choose to work the FIRST Sorting Day, Tuesday, your $10.00 processing fee will be waived. This day consists of sorting the clothes/items back with each individual consignor in preparation for Pick-Up. There are two break-down days for the sale, but the fee will only be waived for working the FIRST sorting day.

Please see the Worker’s Shift Schedule for the exact shift times. Your shifts can be set on the same day or on different days, as your schedule allows.

There is a 30 minute lunch break built into all of the 6 hour shifts. This is noted on the Worker’s Shift Schedule.

LUNCH BREAKS

There is a 30 minute lunch break built into all 6 hour shifts.  This is noted on the Worker’s Shift Schedule. You are welcome to take your lunch break any time you choose during your shift.  If you do not want or need a lunch, you may work your 6 hours straight without taking a break.

Please note that NO lunch breaks will be allowed during 3 hour shifts. Be sure and eat before your 3 hour shift.  You are only with us for a short period, so please understand that we need you working during this time.  You may bring a small snack and drink; however, drinks will be provided.

BE ON TIME

Please make sure that you are ON TIME for your shift. If you are late, please be ready to add that time to the end of your shift. You are only with us for a short period and we are counting on your help; as well as, it is not fair to those that arrived to their shift on time. We allowed you the time to shop early at the Worker’s Presale, so we hope that you will return the favor and be on time for you shift, as well as, work diligently during your entire shift.

DRESS COMFY

Be sure to wear COMFORTABLE shoes AND clothing.  You will be on your feet a lot!

HOW TO SIGN UP

To sign up as a worker, first view the shift schedule by clicking on the “View Shift Schedule” link on the right of the homepage to choose a time that is best for you.

This schedule will give you the dates and times that are currently available and those that are full.  When you are ready, you must then register by clicking on the “Click Here to Signup Now!” link at the top of the shift schedule or you can click the “Worker Registration” link on the right side of the homepage.

Please do not ask us to add a shift for you.  We want to try and offer a time for everyone to work, that is why we literally offer hundreds of shift options.  We create the work schedule very carefully, putting shifts and the number of openings exactly where we need them.  Please do your best to find one that has already been created.  PLEASE DO NOT ask us to add a special shift for you. If we see that additional shifts need to be added for a large number of people, we will do so.  Every sale we have tons of requests from volunteers to add shifts and if we did it for one, we would have to do it for everyone, and that is just impossible for us.  We really want to keep things fair and honest.  We realize that your schedules are busy and we truly appreciate your time, hard work, and understanding in this matter!

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR SHIFT DAY/TIME

We understand that things do come up unexpectedly; therefore, you are able to change or cancel your work shift.  You will have until midnight on Wednesday, (the day before drop-off starts on Thursday), to change or cancel your work shift. To change or cancel your shift, click on the “Worker Registration” link on the right of the homepage.  Once you are inside the shift schedule, you will click “Leave Shift” to change or cancel your shift.

I SHOPPED THE PRESALE BUT CAN’T MAKE MY WORKER SHIFT.  WHAT NOW?

If for some reason you shop with us at the Worker’s Presale and are then unable to make your scheduled shift, please contact us and let us know.  (After the sale has started, private messaging us on Facebook is the best and quickest way to contact us.)  We will be glad to work with you so that you are able to make up your shift(s) before the sale is over.  However, if you are not able to make up your shift, $50.00 will be deducted from your consignor check for each 3 hour shift missed or $100.00 for each 6 hour shift missed. If you have not contacted us and we have not discussed arrangements with you, unfortunately, you will not be able to participate in Sweet Pea Swap in any way again. You will not even be allowed to consign with us.  We realize this may seem harsh, but believe it or not, we had to deal with this issue at our very first sale!  If you shop the presale and then do not show up for your shift, it is not fair to us OR to the workers that made their shifts and worked their assigned times as required.  If at all possible, please contact us ahead of time and we will be glad to try and work with you.

HOW AND WHEN DO I GET MY WORKER’S PRESALE TICKET?

Worker tickets will be issued when you drop off your 15 or more items at drop-off. Three hour workers, 6 hour workers, and 9 hour workers will be issued different color tickets.  You MUST have your ticket to enter the presale on Tuesday night. Only ONE worker ticket will be granted per worker and ONLY ticket holders are allowed into the Worker’s Presale; no guests.

NO CHILDREN ARE ALLOWED AT THE WORKER’S PRESALE!

Enjoy this time of shopping!
